Zoopla House Price Index Report June 2020

House Price Index Report

The Zoopla UK House Price Index Report is our monthly analysis of UK property market data, and annual price growth statistics from 20 UK cities.

This month’s report features exclusive insight on UK house price growth year-on-year, the number of sales agreed year-on year and the number of sales lost due to lockdown

What the report means for agents

There’s a clear lockdown legacy when it comes to supply and demand. The gap between the two is widening: demand is still riding high and housing supply is 10% lower than a year ago.

But there is a positive story to tell sellers. With significant price drops unlikely over the rest of this year, now is as good a time as ever for them to act.

UK city house price growth 2.7 % 2019 UK city house price
London house price growth 1.7 % The annual rate of price inflation

Regional trends in house price growth

The increase in demand has been stronger in cities in northern England, year-on-year.

The greatest short-term support for prices will be in cities where demand has grown the most over the first seven months of 2020 compared to 2019.

Manchester, Liverpool and Nottingham have registered the highest growth in demand. All three also feature in the list of the top five cities for annual house price growth.
